Public comment period open for watershed plan

The public comment period plan for the Rainy-Rapid Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan is now open

Lake of the Woods County and Lake of the Woods Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) are pleased to provide a public review period for the draft Rainy-Rapid Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan until March 24.

The purpose for this plan is to prioritize our local time and funding to manage our natural resources including streams, wetlands, forests, and soil health. Instructions for submitting written comments can be found on the SWCD’s website at the link above.
After completion of this review period, a summary of comments received will be provided to all who commented, and the County and SWCD will hold a public hearing on April 11th at the Lake of the Woods County Board Room.
