Jeffrey Eickhoff, 66

November 05, 2024

Jeffrey Jon Eickhoff, 66, passed away from natural causes at his home in Mounds View, MN, on September 24, 2024.
Jeff was born November 12, 1957, in Warren, MN, to Loran and Joanne (Griggs) Eickhoff of Argyle, MN.
When Jeff was 3 years old, his parents relocated to Brooklyn Park, MN, where he spent his growing-up years. Jeff attended elementary and high school in the Osseo, MN, school district, graduating in 1976.
During Jeff's grade school years, his parents purchased a lake lot on Lake Ossawinnamakee in the Brainerd Lakes area. A cabin was built on the lot. Jeff was always eager to go 'up to the lake.' He enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming in the lake. He also enjoyed riding his Honda 70 on the back roads and trails in the nearby woods.
Jeff became well acquainted with the Williams area when he and his family visited his grandparents, Lucian and Julia Griggs and Henry and Blodwen Eickhoff, who were all long-time residents of Williams.
Jeff's wish was to join the Navy after high school graduation. He was prevented from accomplishing this because of operations on both knees during high school, which also curtailed his wish to play football during those years.
Jeff completed the Auto Mechanics course at a local trade school. In the early 1990s, he bought a home in Mounds View, MN, and lived there until his death.
In 1993, he married Julie Messner. This union lasted ten years. His later years were spent with his special friend and partner, Gloria McLaughlin.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Loran Eickhoff, sister Lynda (Eickhoff) Wilson (Pete), and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne (Griggs) Eickhoff, sister Jan Eickhoff (Rory), special friend Gloria McLaughlin, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Jeff never spent a day of his life without knowing the unconditional love of his family. That love surrounded him each and every day of his life. Those left to grieve his loss will miss his generous spirit, his love, his wry sense of humor, and so much more.
