Public Hearing: LAKE OF THE WOODS COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT / PLANNING COMMISSION

 

There will be a Lake of the Woods County Board of Adjustment/Planning Commission hearing on Wednesday,December 4, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room of the County Government Center in Baudette, Minnesota. The Board may also be conducting lot viewals on December 3, 2024, starting at approximately 4:00 p.m. The Board will consider the following requests:

 

Keith and Lori Peppel | Lot 1 and that part of Lot 2, Block 4, Wheelers Point, Section Nineteen (19), Township One Hundred Sixty-two (162) North, Range Thirty-one (31) West (East of Wheeler) – Parcel ID# 19.52.04.010 | Applicant is requesting a variance from Sections 503.5 and 904 of the Lake of the Woods Zoning Ordinance allowing the redevelopment of this property to include a single structure that will not meet the required 100-foot setback from the ordinary high-water mark of the Rainy River, will not meet the required 10-foot lot line setback, and will not meet the required impervious surface coverage of less than 25%. The Rainy River is an Agricultural River Segment.
 
Chad and Janet Pierce | Lot 2, Block 1, Boundary Commission Plat No. 2; LESS that part of Lot 2, Block 1, shown as MN Department of Transportation ROW, Section Eleven (11), Township One Hundred Sixty (160) North, Range Thirty (30) West (Gudrid) – Parcel ID# 31.57.01.020 | Applicant is requesting a variance from Section 503.5 of the Lake of the Woods Zoning Ordinance allowing the redevelopment of this property to include a single structure that will not meet the required 100-foot setback from the Ordinary High-Water Level (OHWL) of the Rainy River and the required fifty (50) feet from the Right-of-Way of Highway 11. The Rainy River is an Agricultural River segment.
 
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE OF ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Lake of the Woods County Planning Commission on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Room of the County Government Center in Baudette, Minnesota. The purpose of this public hearing is to consider amendments to the Lake of the Woods County Zoning Ordinance.  This zoning ordinance would amend the county’s zoning regulations to comply with Minnesota Statute 342. All interested citizens are invited to attend this hearing and provide testimony. The purpose of this public hearing is to consider a Cannabis Ordinance for Lake of the Woods County. This ordinance would be established to comply with Minnesota Statute 342. All interested citizens are invited to attend this hearing and provide testimony.
